Geaux Local is an organization in Beaumont, TX whose main objective is to provide education, information and resources on every facet living locally as a solution to many of the problems that our larger society faces. We encourage local citizens, business owners and consumers to make a conscientious effort to be active participants in our community by contributing to the local economy and being a part of the community that we live in. We also encourage and facilitate education on the benefits of living locally.

One of Geaux Local’s focuses is improving local economic conditions through a network of local business owners who cooperatively cross-promote with each other utilizing a word of mouth advertising campaign, viral internet marketing and group advertising efforts. Our network of merchants is growing and includes service-oriented businesses, retailers, charity organizations and local consumers. Part of the beauty of Geaux Local is that we offer an opportunity for any local business owner who might not otherwise have the available budget to take advantage of large scale advertising and promotion. Our goal is to prompt local consumers to begin to conscientiously choose to patronize locally-owned businesses over other businesses when and where possible. We also focus on teaching the benefits of choosing locally-produced food as a mainstay of our diets. Living locally is a lifestyle of sustainability and conservation. It is one that is easy on the environment and able to survive major economic changes like the ones that are predicted to happen over the next decade. It’s certainly a frugal option now, but may be a necessity in the future. We’d love to help YOU understand why.
